February 2008 in South Korea....

Well, I just completed 6 months in S.Korea and turned one year older. February has been a good month. One of my favorites. Although, no skiing for me this year...a bit jealous of all my bros in Colorado ripping up the best snow year in quite some time. POWDER!!! Below are some random photos....ENJOY!

Seoul at Night....many people and lots of neon lights....

A night view of Seoul from the Jongno Tower. Enjoyable evening, having dinner on the top floor at the Top Cloud & Grill Cafe. Expensive western food, but tasty.

The Bosingak Bell Pavillion at night. The bell that tolls on New Year's Day. The bell is 3.18m tall, made of bronze and it's from the Joseon period. Many years ago.

Street Food

Teddy Bear anyone?

Another Seoul side street...

Viewed and pictures taken from a city bus heading back to Bundang after a visit to Seoul. An awful night in Seoul. Can't believe our eyes...at first we did not know what was happening, but soon found out that the #1 Historical Site in Seoul (maybe even the country) was on fire. The ancient Namdaemun Gate (Sungnyemun or South Gate) was set on fire by an old man....in his 70's or so. Some of you may have saw this on the world news or on the Internet. We were there. Wow! I managed to get some good photos. I do have some photos of this back in October or November. If you look back through the blog.

Many fire trucks and fire fighters, but they could not put the fire out.

Their plans are to rebuild it. It will take quite a bit of time and a lot of Won (Korea's currency)

Another random occurrence. This happened outside my apartment building. A friend and I were walking to rent a movie and......a car was on fire....

I was hoping to see a big explosion. It would be kinda cool to see a car blow up in real life. However, the fire trucks arrived quickly.

We think the car owner is in the white shirt on the left. Watching his car burn outside the worship house. hmmmmm.........

Ahhh....a snowy walk to work. I miss Colorado!!! None-the-less, thinking of nice memories as I walk to work. This is about the most it snows in Bundang. I think we have had only a handful of snowfalls all winter.

That's all for now.

Stay tuned....Next showing will be last weekend's trip into North Korea! Should be posted within a few days......
